I've worn a beard with the exception of a month or two since the end of 2015. I'm probably going to give it a shave and go beardless (I refuse to call it 'clean shaven') for a while as the temps warm up. I like the look of bearded and having a face insulator for the winter is nice. I also enjoy the shaving experience with manly soaps, a badger hair brush and a Merkur double edge razor. I haven't shaved daily in a while.

What do you do? Does your work or industry preclude you from going natural.

This is a shameless post all about me. Yes it is.

The first pic...I don't know that guy. 2nd pic looks like a dark haired Stuart Appleby. The 3rd and 4th are the only ones I recognize. Beardless definitely looks a lot younger.

I don't have a beard because my beard grows in like Cliff Clavem's did in Cheers (before he cheated).

I like you with a beard. I'm in the unfortunate boat of wanting to be in the golf industry but liking facial hair. Two things that don't go together. I've had a beard for most of recent months, but shaving every day now and for the next few weeks because of my job at Augusta National. I'm worried they'll see one hair on my chin and kick me out.

I'm a fan of the beard. It tickles me.

Just my 2 cents...

I've never completely understood this, but everyone has what they like and what they don't like. In the tech land, the shift is toward facial hair. 70% of the guys I work with have or had a beard.

I don't care what others in my field think. It keeps my face warm when it's 20 degrees out. Women wear scarves, men (especially real men) grow beards.
Man scarf

Facial hair, tattoos, or piercings in an interview for a golfing job is almost surely going to guarantee you don't get the job. You have to look clean-cut because golf is seen as a clean-cut game. Maybe the image will change one day, and maybe I'll have something to do with it, but for now I'm just doing what's asked of me.

Job interviews are no place to make a statement. You are right about that.

i would say that "clean shaven" should be replace by "beardless" because it is 100% natural to have a beard.

My job requires me to be clean shaven and I prefer it that way anyway. The only time I rock a beard is during hunting season.

I used to grow a playoff beard when I played, but that was many moons ago.

Any company based in the great white north that has a no beard policy should be sued!
