Since we have a core group of 10-12 guys for our NGT's I had two ideas:

#1 I was thinking that maybe we should plan on locations in general areas of the core guy's and put them into a rotation rather than going somewhere that none of us are near.

2014 Philadelphia: Don, Scott
2015 Orlando: Jay
2016 Tampa: Jay, Connor
2017 Pinehurst: Vince, Jesse

We've already discussed the possibly of Houston for next year (Daniel, Jon, Greg, probably Ethan). So what about New England (Frank, Kelcey), Southeast (Eric, Vince, Lee)? Maybe even Southwest (Jerry, if he ever comes back to us, lol!).

#2 I mentioned an "every year" location like Myrtle Beach to a few of you. With close to 100 courses within 30-45 mins and dozens within just a few minutes drive in any direction at very affordable pricing. Plenty of night life and housing galore. We could play 4 different courses here each year and probably be dead before we played them all!

This year was a little pricey and I wouldn't have traded the chance to play an iconic course like Pinehurst #2. But to me, it's the fun of being around everyone. Even though this year's location was a treat, I can have just as much fun and spend a lot less for golf.

Any thoughts for the future, guys?

As someone who loves traveling and seeing new places, I'm fully in support of option #1. I was actually thinking during my drive from KY to SC on Friday that if we did the NGT in Houston next year, I think there's a chance I could get us on Whispering Pines, which is in Golf Digest's Top 100; somewhere around 50th. At the same time, I'd be all for New England as well. I just want to be able to check out different places with you all.

Due to the time of the year, either early or late Sept, we need to keep it down South because the weather is more predictable. The cost is more manageable if you stay in FL but we have already done that.

Houston seems like a good fit, with Myrtle Beach as a backup. I think it will tough to top Pinehurst. We'll be talking about this one for years.

Does Tobacco Road have a stay and play package?

Agree with Texas in 2018. We have Ethan over South Texas, Daniel, "the Godfather of the site", and me as "James T. Kirk" (always gets beat up but somehow pulls it out). Lots of courses, Bar BQ, hot chicks, football, and The Alamo.

Don't care where it will be, just want the opportunity to go.

I have met the professional staff at ANGC so I could always ask...

They actually do. Remember that cabin behind the 14th par 3? It sleeps 4 and the green is lighted at night for play.

We need to remove etowah valley from the list, unless you're happy with only playing 9 slow holes and backup at the turn.

What's that, like a 1 or 2 week window when the snow melts?

My vote would be for for #2. Myrtle Beach has lots of great courses for a lot less money.

Kinda disagree with this. South is hurricane season. Is that what you call "predictable"? In PA, the temps are in the mid 70's to low 80's through September. Massachusetts would be only marginally cooler. Myrtle Beach would be about as close to perfect as we could ask for in mid to late September.

One thing for sure is Florida is too damned hot!
