Tiger has indicated that he will return to the tour at Torrey Pines and then at Riviera. Is it wise for him to return to two courses that are not exactly driver or birdie friendly with penal rough? Even though Torrey has been the site of some of his greatest achievements, this is now a Tiger calendar age 42 but with a body surgically repaired most likely pushing 60. Plus facing a group of twenty somethings who may like and respect him but certainly are not in awe of him if anything looking forward to putting some notches on their gun handles by posting scores lower then him.

Logically he would play the Career Builder, but Tiger's too good for that event. I get his reasoning just because Torrey Pines is one of the two courses (Firestone being the other) where in the past, if he teed it up there, he'd win. No questions asked. Riviera makes sense with his foundation having a role in the event.

I agree with COG. The Riviera event is a business decision. Torrey Pines is a familiarity decision and the past success doesn’t hurt.

He likes Pebble, but that event is always challenging for the Pros because they have to team with an Am for 4 days and play up to the crowd. Makes sense to start this way.

You can count on Bay Hill and the Honda too.

Might be demoralizing to him especially when he sees this 40 something guy dressed in blue out drive him with a 5wood.

Jealousy will get him nowhere!
