I, like to spend less time over the golf ball. I, think the longer I'm over the golf ball, the more time, I, have to let outside thoughts come into my mind and distract me from the shot at hand.at this point I, trust myself and let it go. At the 2017 NGT. I, did notice all my friends that I, play golf on those days. That their golf routine were not
slow ( 5 minutes ) or fast ( 5 seconds ) Their golf routines, were, right on. Do you spend less or more time over the golf ball?

I haven't played since December, so I guess I'm spending less time over the ball.

I refuse to suffer from paralysis from over analysis.

I spend as little time over the ball as I can. Those of you who have played me might have noticed after I address the ball, and before I swing, I tap the ground a lot with my club and do some abbreviated waggles. I do that to stay loose. Golfers who are over the ball for more than 10 seconds and stay almost completely static amaze me. No way I could pull that off.

That's because you are still a young whippersnapper with so much energy you can't sit still for more then 10 seconds.

I play fast but try to visualize the shot.

One time in Orlando I visualized that drive would land in such a precise area, that it wound up perfectly top of a tee.

I think if you really concentrate and spend just a little extra over the ball, you can accomplish anything!

I witnessed that. It was amazing. Not an amazing feat. But amazing to think some people are so gullible.

It may work for some of you guys, but I'm not a big fan of staring at my balls.....or yours either.......so please hurry up your pre shot routines.....

I don't spend much time on shots from the fairway (or near it at any rate). I do spend a little more time setting up and getting comfortable on the tee box. I think sometimes I should take a little more time to set up my approach shots and a little less on the tee. There's a sweet spot on the tee and occasionally I push past it.
