I wanna try and maximize my distance with my driver. Thinking of going to Golf Tec since they are running a speacial. has anyone ever done that and what was your outcome.

If you've never been fitted for shafts and don't know your swing speed, transition, etc.. then a fitting may help you find the right 'flex' for your shaft.

I gained 35 - 50 yards and fairways with a few lessons, a good coach, and a backyard net to hit daily. Shaft fitting couldn't ever do that.

I can't comment re GolfTec however I just had a full bag professional club fitting and was amazed at the results. I had a custom driver made and my consistency, ball flight and carry improved tremendously. Found my prior driver shaft was too long and I needed a higher driver head loft to improve carry. Cost included a fitting session on a driving range, using Trackman. Found the outdoor sessions on the range were critical to determining real life conditions. No more expensive than buying a premium driver off the shelf. Also had my putter retro-fitted including shortening the shaft and changing the lie. Much more comfortable. Had my irons evaluated and determined I need to add length. Cost will be about $15/club not including grips.
I highly recommend getting fitted by a professional club fitter!
