Hey Everyone,

I'm joining a friend for my first ever member-guest tournament on October 11th and need to establish a USGA official handicap by then. I've entered my last 7 rounds into my account, paid the subscription and see that the site is giving me a 12.8 USGA Handicap Index. It looks like the next review for my club (Charlotte Area) is 10/1 - do I need to have more scores entered by 10/1 to have the handicap "certified" or made official?

Just looking for any info I may need to make this official by the golf tournament on 10/11.

Thanks!
Chris

That 10-1 revision is all you will have before your tournament. They revise on the 1st and 15 th of every month. Post every round you play before the 1st and that should be enough for the tournament committee. As you go and post more scores you’ll get a more accurate handicap index.

Thanks Lee - one other ask was for my GHIN, will I get this once that 10/1 revision takes place?

I may be wrong on this but I think when your 10-1 revision is posted that is your GHIN number or your handicap index. I think there both the stay. When I play in tournaments that require a handicap I give them my handicap index from this site and that’s always been good.

GHIN
US Handicap does not participate in the GHIN computation service. GHIN is a different handicap system used by some regional golf associations. US Handicap clubs are licensed directly by the USGA and use the GolfNet handicap network. GolfNet and GHIN are not the same handicap service, but both are USGA compliant. The Handicap Index you receive on US Handicap will not be found on the GHIN Network.

I have just printed the handicap card which current stats and scores used and it has been sufficient for member guest tournaments. The clubs wii then adjust index sometimes based on club slope and ratin

Thank you everyone! With today's revision, it looks like I'm good to go, even without the GHIN. I appreciate your insight.
